I'm turning 40!

Come mark the occasion with me — outside, unhurried, surrounded by the people I love. It's more than a birthday, it's the reunion of my dreams: forty years of chapters, and people I love who've never had the chance to meet each other. I've lived in 8 cities as an adult (13 counting childhood!) — from SW Florida to Maine, California to Tennessee, just a Pacific Northwest girl who made her way to all four corners of the U.S. #coastallifeismyfavorite — to the sweltering heat and even better food of Texas, to falling in love with a brownstone on Capitol Hill and a village in Downeast Maine.

So many seasons of beautiful places, and even more beautiful people who made them home. For this milestone, I simply want you all in one place, meeting each other the way I've always pictured. Saturday's brunch is the main event — the one part of the weekend I hope everyone can make. Friday evening and Sunday morning are optional add-ons for anyone who's in town — come for all of it, or just what's nourishing for you and your family.

My one thoughtful gift request: bring your favorite book, name written inside — help me build my home library for this next decade. Besides you, my favorite thing list is short and always includes a good book! If books are not your thing — bring something to add to the library (candle, art print, album you love).
